jQuery plug-in development
at iVouch in Silicon Valley, CA
Hello!
We're currently seeking an experienced jQuery plug-in developer to design and write a plug-in to interface with the upcoming release of our API.
iVouch is a startup based in Silicon Valley, and we provide a robust platform for small businesses to collect, manage, and promote reviews about their products and services. The plug-in will be designed to enable web developers to easily and elegantly integrate iVouch reviews into their websites.
In addition to developing the plug-in, we are looking to have a few sample "widgets" developed that interface with the plug-in. So, the stack would look like this:
(Widgets)
----------------------------
(jQuery iVouch plug-in)
----------------------------
(iVouch API server)
The iVouch API uses simple JSON requests and responses, and the plug-in should use jQuery's built-in ajax and json functionality to interface to the server. You would not do any server-side development (but can certainly influence the API as it is tested and prepared for release).
This is primarily a contract job for developing the plug-in, documentation, and some sample widgets. Depending on your design skills and interests, the arrangement could continue/expand to include the development of many production-quality widgets, and perhaps customized widgets for our bigger customers on an ongoing basis.
Moonlighters welcome! -- as long as your arrangement with your current employer doesn't prohibit you from working with us including signing our standard contractor agreement, and you're able to set and meet reasonable deadlines. This would be a telecommuting contract job, you set your own hours. If you're in the SF Bay Area it'd be a plus to have face-to-face meetings.
Compensation would be in cash. If there is a strong mutual match, this could eventually evolve into a full-time position.
If interested, please send:
1. A list of recent jQuery projects involving plug-in development, with a brief description of each and your involvement. Please include links to external websites if possible.
2. A brief statement describing your education, including degrees earned, name of school/college/university, and year earned.
3. A brief statement describing your current availability (i.e., are you busy working with other projects? do you have a full-time job?)
4. Your location, and a brief description of your telecommuting capabilities (i.e. do you have access to high-speed internet, do you have equipment and a place where you can get work done, etc.).
5. Anything else you deem relevant -- other relevant skills, compensation expectations, etc.
(Please, no agents. Principals only.)
