About our product
TomTom HOME 2.0 is a software application based on the Mozilla platform. The application helps users of TomTom products to stay up to date. It provides free content for downloading and contains an online shop for buying new products. There is also a TomTom product maintenance component to create backups, perform software updates and copy content from device to computer and much more. With all this functionality and with over 5 million downloads, TomTom HOME 2.0 is becoming one of our company’s flagship products.
Tasks & Responsibilities
You will be working in a team of talented developers and software architects. We need developers with exceptional precision and the skills to anticipate problems before they hit our over 6 million users.
Every detail and decision is important and can influence development and user experience in the future. To quickly be able to meet our user’s needs we practice SCRUM to keep our development process as flexible as possible.

Skills of the suitable candidate
- Experience with Mozilla/XUL and the XULrunner platform
- Expert JavaScript & DOM knowledge
- Deep grasp of object-oriented & large-scale software methods, patterns and principles
- Experience with application development
- Mastery of XHTML, CSS
Additional useful skills
- Advanced XML experience
- Advanced AJAX experience
- Knowledge of E4X
- Experience with Firefox add-on development
- Working knowledge of SubVersion
- Experience with graphic design/layout
- Working knowledge of information design, web usability and navigation standards
- In depth knowledge of server side scripting technologies
