We’re on the lookout for a Senior Front End Web Developer to work on some of the UK’s biggest web hosting brands. The job is based in new offices near Heathrow.

You’ll be working with some enthusiastic, intelligent people in our Marketing and Product Development teams to produce attractive, functional and user-friendly web sites for our web-hosting brands: WebFusion, Donhost, Supanames, & 123-reg.

You’ll know lots about accessibility, usability and compatibility, and you won’t be shy about championing those causes within our busines. With an eye for improving web pages, sorting out visitor experiences and boosting sales revenue, you’ll produce pixel-perfect web pages to bring our designs to life.

You’ll live and breathe structured, standards compliant XHTML & CSS and bring heaps of technical expertise and support to our design team.

Comfortable coding sophisticated user-interaction (AJAX) and server-side functionality (PHP), you’ll be responsible for creating dynamic templates and content management systems, helping us to work smarter.

Your day-to-day tasks will include: managing and co-ordinating team projects, designing and building bombproof templates, database administration, server-side scripting, creating functional user interfaces, performing site and product updates, supporting the marketing and design teams.

We’re the UK’s biggest web host, with three main hosting brands: WebFusion, 123-reg and Donhost. We moved into new offices in Stockley Park near Heathrow at the end of last year, and now we’re expanding the team so we have the capacity to do some really great things.

The office is in a great location – just a couple of miles from Heathrow, but away from the flightpaths and on a leafy business park. We’re just off the motorway and there’s plenty of free parking. You can reach us easily by public transport too.

Core functions

• Coordinate all front-end web development, implementing front-end application logic
• Liaise with back-end development teams and understand system architecture
• Design and build intuitive web interfaces and systems for our customer-facing sites
• Manage a growing in-house development team
• Bring our designs to life with standards compliant HTML-CSS
• Support the design team with your technical expertise
• Assist with site and product updates
• Improve visitor experience, and sales revenue

• Keep up to date with latest web technologies and skills (we think this is important, and will help you make time for it)

Essential experience

• Minimum 3 years web development experience as demonstrated through portfolio of work
• Education to degree level or equivalent commercial experience
• Excellent organisation & interpersonal skills

• Core technical skills: (X)HTML, CSS2/3, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL

Desirable experience

• Experience in creating templating & content managed systems
• Demonstrable experience of .NET, SQL Server, AJAX
• Experience with version management software (e.g. Subversion)
• Photoshop experience / appreciation of the varying graphics file formats used for the web

• Unix server administration
