Front End Engineer - Austin
Founded in 2001, Incisent Technologies is an entrepreneurial technology company based in downtown Chicago with nearly 1,500 business customers in forty-six states. We create technology that puts sophisticated business intelligence and Internet marketing software into the hands of non-technical front line employees, with proven bottom-line results. Our first vertical is the automotive retail sector. We are seeking to establish an engineering center in Austin and are looking for an outstanding, hands-on front end engineer to round out our technical team.
Your responsibilities will include
• Ability to create and implement intuitive user experiences.
• Transforming written business requirements and visual comps into simple and clean workflows using expert level HTML/CSS and Javascript frameworks.
• Writing clean, standards compliant semantic markup that implements business specs with precision and attention to detail.
• Define the design and layout of compositions including static content and templates.
• Working with back end engineers to integrate presentation and application tiers while working in an MVC framework. Experience with at least one framework such as JSP, ASP.Net, Ruby on Rails or PHP is a must.
• Applying client side technologies including DOM Scripting and Ajax toolkits.
The ideal candidate for the position will have good visual design skills, and attention to detail in implementing polished web applications, but this is not primarily a design job. We are looking for front end engineers who enjoy the software engineering challenges of building the presentation tier of complex and high performance decision support tool.
As a key member of the team, you will be expected to work with UI designers and product management and help provide engineering input into the application design process. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of fast paced, talented team of engineers is a must.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the following:
+ (X)HTML
+ JavaScript and DOM Scripting
+ Web page design layout using CSS 2 and Web standards
+ Cross platform/browser compatibility
+ Adobe Photoshop
+ Experience with an MVC application framework such as JSP, ASP.Net, Ruby on Rails or PHP.
Familiarity with the following is desired:
+ AJAX using AJAX.Net, JQuery or Prototype
+ Adobe Flash
Candidate should have:
+ Minimum of 6 years experience in web application interface development including experience with dynamic data driven web applications.
+ Portfolio of work and sample URLs.
+ Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with highly skilled peers.
+ Flexibility with work schedule as the changing pace of multiple projects and demands dictate.
