Freelance Sr. Front End Developer
at Schematic in Los Angeles, CA 90016
Currently, Schematic has a dynamic Freelance Senior Front- End Developer opportunity to be located in our LA office. This position involves two primary tasks: Front-end Development and Project Scoping. The Deve enthusiast will be highly involved in providing hands-on client-side project development, architecting and provide technical leadership; while contributing to our company’s coding standards, code reviews, mentoring initiatives, and evaluating potential new hires. The top candidate will also be charged with evaluating proposal requests with varying degrees of details from a client-side perspective, working with business development and others to assess requirements and risks and assumptions - in addition to working with project management to determine the client-side portion of project schedules.
Key Requirements:
• Solid Hand-coding of both CSS and semantic, efficient, standards-compliant XHTML
• Hand-code DOM-based, object-oriented, unobtrusive Java Script
• Architecting robust client-side solutions involving various media components (such as Flash and WMP) and XMLHttpRequest/AJAX
• Possess a keen eye for IA, design, and usability, and an understanding of accessibility guidelines
• Detail-oriented in all facets of work, from code to communications
• Accustomed to juggling multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment with PMs, software developers, IAs, and UI and interaction designers
The proactive and professional Developer (but not buttoned-down) must be self-sufficient as well as comfortable in taking ownership of all work assigned. You must be capable of reviewing wireframes, functional specs, interface designs, and technical specs (contributing to the latter as needed) as part of an effort to evaluate project scope and assist project managers with their schedules. Agency side experience highly preferred. Solid ability to communicate effectively about client-side technologies with business development, account managers, project managers, user experience designers, interface designers, other technologists, and client representatives from a similarly broad range of disciplines are an absolute must.
