We’re looking for ambitious, driven, self-starters who want to be on the leading edge of developing technology and the social media evolution. This position is located in Santa Monica, CA. This Designer would be working on our eHow property.
Responsibilities:
· The Designer will work within a collaborative Design team and be responsible for designing XHTML, HTML prototypes, visual interfaces and interaction of Web-based applications and hand code CSS.
· Work closely with our Design/Creative team to code and build web user interfaces using the latest standards and technologies.
· Convert PSD’s into rich, efficient and user friendly X/HTML, CSS2 and JS. AJAX a plus.
· Participate in the design and development of new UI functionality and enhancements for our growing portfolio of web sites.
· Able to integrate in a .Net environment
Requirements:
· Strong knowledge of user-interface and information architecture principles and how to design Web sites with complex information or functionality.
· Typographic, color, and layout skills, and a deep understanding of how these basic design principles are applied to the web.
· Experience with UX/UI Design, Information Architecture and Usability.
· Well-versed in Photoshop and XHTML/CSS.
· Detail-oriented and highly communicative, with the ability to work independently, think critically and solve problems.
· BA in Design (or equivalent), at least 2-3 years experience, and an online portfolio.
