Pre-launch developer spot at recently funded Seattle web startup... come help us launch!
We're a Seattle web startup with a crazy ambitious idea, we've just been funded, and we hope you'll come join us. You'll be the 6th member of our team and among the last to join pre-launch. If you're looking for a high-risk, high-reward situation with lots of impact, this is a rare opportunity.
Should you come onboard, you'll play a crucial role in building something that you, your friends, and your family members will all use. Our vision encompasses email, media sharing, and social networking (we did say it was ambitious), so you won't run out of challenges anytime soon. We will give you the latitude to do your best work.
As a developer on our team, you should be eager to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes. If you have the attitude that no job is beneath you and that you're also capable of just about anything, and you love it when people tell you something's impossible, you're probably a good fit.
Specific skills and background you should possess:
- love writing and solving development challenges with JavaScript
- open to learning or participating in Ruby on Rails development
- you understand the internals of what JQuery, Prototype, YUI etc. are doing
- you could rewrite much of those libraries, but would rather build new user functionality using those libraries.
It would also be helpful if:
- you've build a single-page Ajax application
- you're familiar with distributed file storage (MogileFS / Google File System-style storage systems)
- you have experience with RSS-consuming applications or mobile applications
A little more about us:
We're backed by a group of rock-star angel and institutional investors; we're veterans of multiple startups, including Redfin, Zillow, and others; and we've spent time at the likes of Amazon, Expedia, and Microsoft. Our culture is intense but informal, highly collaborative, and very very fun.
Comp is a mix of cash and equity, with less of the former & more of the latter.
