Job Overview:
Bazaarvoice is hiring a full time developer for its Proof of Concept Engineering group here in Austin. This group is responsible for launching customer driven product pilots. In addition to launching pilots, Proof of Concept Engineers are responsible for exploring new social technologies and will be involved in advanced data mining and web analytics projects.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate meets these requirements:
•BA/BS or equivalent with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or similar
•2-5 years experience in web development
•Love of rapid, iterative customer-centric development
•Experience with end-to-end web development using Java, SQL, JS (jQuery), HTML, CSS
•Knowledge of dynamic languages like Python or Ruby
•Love for experimenting with new application development technologies and toolsets (e.g. Rails, Django, Grails, Scala/Lift)
•Familiarity with database (mysql), webserver (apache) and linux administration
•A little bit of a hacker’s mentality to get things up and running quickly (rapid iteration is the key to POC projects)
•A good eye for design and considerate of user experience
