Based in Columbia, Maryland, Autani is a growing company seeking to increase the size of its engineering staff. Autani currently has an opening for a Web Applications Engineer.
Individuals in this position will have knowledge programming presentation, application, and data layer software using web development tools. Software development will be performed on Linux and/or Microsoft Windows platforms. Successful candidates will demonstrate the capability to participate in both product feature definition and development. The position also requires development of testing procedures and documentation in accordance with company standards.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
• 3 years experience in applications software and/or product development.
Additional Qualifications and Learning Opportunities
• Must be proficient in web application programming using Java, JavaScript, and JQuery.
• Capable of designing and developing component based or web services software.
• Experience with database design and data layer programming.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or Scheme are considered a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux as a software development and deployment environment.
• Hands-on experience in development, verification, and test of web applications.
• Understanding of wired and wireless networking and communications programming.
• Proven object-oriented programming skills.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools and software development methodologies.
• Flexibility to work in a team for large projects or as an individual for smaller projects.
• Experience documenting system requirements and software design.
• Understanding of project scheduling and estimation.
• Exhibit good communication skills (both written and interpersonal).
• Must be authorized to work in USA.
