freelance Web Designer/User Interface designer Wanted

at Undisclosed in New York City, NY

Web Designer/User Interface designer contract position available. Possible full time employment for the right candidate.

You will be helping create the visual identity, user interface, logos and general look and feel for a new web application.

Working with a small team of experienced engineers and businesspeople, you will be responsible for taking our use case, specifications, and preliminary wireframes and generating beautiful intuitive user interfaces with a consistent clean visual identity.

We have a new project, working with independent and up and coming musicians, that we think is tremendously exciting, and we're looking for the right person to help us create just hte right look and feel.

It's vital that you've worked before in a production web shop, meaning, you know how to optimize graphics for web display, upload them to a server, slicing, etc. heck, even possibly taking a peek at the html (though really, we want visual wizards, we've got enough techies). It's also vital that you've designed rich internet applications: this is emphatically not a store, nor a static website for an artist, or a web presence for a law firm. This is a full application online, with complex data to display, and complex user interactions. Think gmail, 280slides.com, and all the stuff from 37 signals (highrise, basecamp, campfire, etc).

You'll be working mostly off-site, but we request that you be available for two meetings per week, usually after hours, in lower manhattan.

We're a bunch of smart, eclectic people from the music industry, development
community and the business world. We work really hard and have a lot of fun while we're
doing it. If this sounds cool to you, send us links to your online resume and portfolio, and we'll
take it from there.
