Front End Developer - Yell.com
We are currently looking to recruit a Front End Developer to join our User Experience team and contribute to the design and development of the user interface across Yell.com’s media channels.
With over 10 million users a month, Yell.com holds a prominent position in the UK’s online industries. Over the coming months, we are looking to push the boundaries of our user interface. We will ensure the latest technologies are utilised to provide exciting new interactions for desktop and mobile interfaces.
The successful candidate will join our expanding team of talented web designers. We require an enthusiastic individual who has a keen interest in working in an agile environment using the latest client-side technologies.
Minimum Requirements
Expert in CSS, HTML and Javascript
Experience using jQuery or similar library
Familiarity and interest in HTML5 and CSS3
Experience working in data-driven website using JSP/JSTL or PHP
Self-starter with proven personal or business projects using above technologies.
Excellence in creating usable web interfaces. An eye for detail is essential.
Clear communicator – comfortable talking shop with developers and also translating complex topics into layman’s terms
Nice to haves
Working in a scrum (agile) environment
Experience working on GIS/Mapping solutions
Wordpress knowledge (or similar)
Experience creating interfaces for iPhone (or iPad) and other mobile devices.
Familiarity with Omniture – implementing tags and analysing data
Knowledge of SEO principles
Strong understanding of Content Management Systems and Version Control software.
