Job Description:
Do you want to develop leading-edge web clients for Java/J2EE enterprise applications? ERDAS is seeking an experienced JavaScript/Java developer to join an agile team developing J2EE geospatial data management products. As an enterprise JavaScript/web-client developer, you’ll be responsible for crafting a clean, dynamic user experience against a J2EE back-end to support web mapping, enterprise spatial data management, and geoprocessing in a browser.
Major Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and maintain robust, responsive and elegant web applications within an AJAX framework
• Build and maintain AJAX components used by partners in implementing custom portals and solutions
• Build and maintain a robust client-side JavaScript architecture
• Assist in managing the lifecycle of client-side web applications and underlying components
Knowledge/Skills Required:
• B.Sc. Computer Science degree or equivalent
• 3-5 Years experience developing object-oriented JavaScript applications
• Experience working in a Java/J2EE environment
• Deep understanding of web standards and technologies, HTTP, AJAX, REST, JSON, CSS, HTML
• Familiarity with client-side JavaScript frameworks; expertise in at least one of YUI, DoJo, JQuery, etc.
• Passionate about web development and up-to-date with latest developments in their field
• Experienced with good SW engineering practices, including application of patterns and unit testing
• Solid foundation/understanding of interaction design principles and UI design
• Demonstrated expertise of more than one programming language (as well as JavaScript) highly desired
• Experience with web mapping and geospatial applications a plus
