Early-stage startup is looking for an experienced User Interface Engineer to recruit and support a small group of designers and liaise with marketing and other core engineering functions. Candidates are required to be able to build and implement prototype and production level applications in collaboration with marketing and management. The position is full-time and reports to the CTO. The position is based in the centre of Paris, France.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit and work with designers to implement and maintain user-facing features
• Recommend the most appropriate front-end frameworks based on Prouct and User Experience requirements
• Contribute to defining core UI libraries
• Code using PHP and Javascript

• Define best practices for front-end engineering

Requirements:

• Knowledge and expertise in PHP, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX
• Ability to write abstracted, reusable code for common UI components in PHP and Javascript
• Practical experience in user testing and complex workflow design
• Fluent in French and English
• 2+ years of experience building web applications

• B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

Outside of the above requirements, it would be a significant advantage if you have any or all of the following:

*Experience in developing fast applications consistent with cross-browser compatibility and web standards

*Experience working with web application frameworks such as Zend, Ruby on Rails or others

*Experience with Social Platforms

*Familiarity with project management principles.

*Excellent writing and communication
