A luxury mobile media start-up, is seeking full-time experienced hires and entry-level hires. Design Technologists work from the front-end to the middle-tier while Software Developers work from the back-end to the middle-tier. Design Technologists help analyze, prototype, design, and code an application’s user-interface.

Ideal candidates for the Design Technologist role will demonstrate a passion for current technology trends.

Our Design Technologists are front-end developers who:

• Appreciate that mobile and Web standards, accessibility, and usability are essential to uphold;
• Find joy in taking flat design components and making them interactive interfaces.
• Have experience with XHTML and CSS,
• Extrapolate initial design visions to develop the front end of a Mobile Web, PC Internet site, or downloadable application.
• Have unparalleled attention to detail when maintaining the sanctity of original designs.
• Play well with others – and take pride in their communicative and collaborative abilities.
• Appreciate variety in their work, but remain committed to projects that take weeks of focused effort to complete.
• Are obsessed with following Best Practices in optimizing and replacing images, using unobtrusive JavaScript, and adhering to accessibility guidelines.

• Meet deadlines without breaking a sweat (okay, maybe you will sweat a little sometimes).

They also have experience with one or more of the following:

• JavaScript, and/or AJAX
• Hibernate and/or Struts, Regal, or Wicket
• InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
• Graphics compression
• Some experience with server-side code such as PHP or Ruby on Rails.

• Wordpress, Drupal, Express Engines, or Joomla.

The following experience is also highly desirable:

• Experience with GUI application development on wireless devices, including Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, RIM Blackberry, Apple feature phones or smartphones
• Experience in object-oriented GUI Web or Mobile Web design and/or development using J2ME.
• Ability to read and write UML class diagrams

• Experience with XML parsing techniques.
