full time Javascript Engineer

at Wello Horld, Inc. in San Francisco, CA

Wello Horld, Inc. is looking for Javascript Engineer in the San Francisco bay area to help us build a Web-changing real-time social media application. We have strong backing from a major Silicon Valley venture capital firm, and we’re currently looking to grow our team by adding a client-side developer with a mastery of modern Javascript and top-notch DHTML/CSS skills. We seek agile, creative developers who never stop learning new technologies and can help guide architecture/coding standards. The ideal candidate has solid CS fundamentals, but is also not afraid to get their hands dirty with UI prototyping.

We have a host of sexy problems to tackle, and you’d be doing so alongside a handful of killer devs and cutting-edge thinkers; working closely with the back-end team to help develop scalable and efficient protocols, as well as the front-end team to support their amazing UI designs.

You’ll need to communicate clearly and play well as part of a fast-growing team, but if you can handle all of the above then you’ll have the chance to contribute to a company that has the modest ambition of changing the way people use the Web.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

  • excellent knowledge and experience in Object Oriented Javascript
  • excellent knowledge and experience in one or more modern Javascript libraries
  • excellent knowledge and experience in DHTML/CSS
  • experience developing for a wide range of browsers and environments
  • experience with test frameworks and ability to work in a test driven environment
  • ability to work to deadlines, maintain clear and timely communication, and play well as part of a diverse team

EXTRA CREDIT:

  • experience developing browser plugins and extensions
  • knowledge and experience of XUL development
  • experience developing instant messaging applications
  • experience developing P2P applications
