Schematic, one of the nation’s leading interactive agencies, is seeking a Senior Front-end Engineer to work on a variety of high-profile Web sites and rich media applications (ABC, Dell, Microsoft, NBC, Nokia, and Target are just some of our clients). We’re looking for developers who implement current best practices, get excited about innovations in the field, and who enjoy both learning from and sharing their knowledge with co-workers and the Web community.

Candidates should:

• Hand-code semantic, standards-compliant (X)HTML and CSS
• Hand-code DOM-based, object-oriented, unobtrusive JavaScript and have experience with XMLHttpRequest/AJAX and JavaScript libraries
• Understand how to develop interfaces that comply with accessibility guidelines
• Architect front-end solutions that are efficient and scalable
• Possess a keen eye for IA, design (this is not a design position, however), and usability
• Enjoy working in a collaborative environment with PMs, software developers, and interface and UX designers
• Be detail-oriented in all facets of work, from code to communications

• Be self-sufficient, taking ownership of work assigned

Pluses for the position include: Flash/JavaScript communication; mobile development experience; XML and XSLT; experience interacting directly with clients; an understanding of the various online video delivery options available (Flash, Silverlight, Move, etc.).
