Java Software Engineer
Want to revolutionize the next generation online entertainment experience? The Cisco Media Solutions Group is building Cisco Eos, a new software-as-a-service platform for media and community.
We are looking for experienced Java developers to help build out our media delivery platform services. The Cisco Media Solutions Group’s charter is to develop and market infrastructure solutions that enhance the end-consumers' entertainment and content experience.
Responsibilities:
• Writing Web Services that will provide key functional components end-to-end platform. We anticipate astronomical scale so we are looking for developers who have experience in writing bulletproof code that is built to last.
• Design core, backend software components
• Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
• Conduct design and code reviews
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
Requirements:
• Proven Java development experience.
• Experience working with the Tomcat servlet container, MySQL currently and Postgres.
• We use Spring, Hibernate, Lucene, and many other Open Source libraries to build our core REST services.
• Ant for builds, Subversion for source control, and Trac for wiki/issue tracking. We use JUnit to unit test our code. Experience in all of these tools will ensure that you will be able to hit the ground running.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

• The ideal candidate is highly motivated, and able to communicate issues and ideas effectively. Our work environment is highly collaborative, so being able to work with other engineers, product designers, and other stakeholders is critical.
