Web Developer I

Content Pilot LLC is looking for an incredibly talented web application developer to join our Dallas-based team.You should be experienced but hungry, results oriented and passionate about working with technology. We use Java stack, Virtual Enterprise Model Driven Development and MySQL Server, as well as other standard tools.

As an emerging startup positioned in the legal marketing industry, we’ve been building sites since 2006 and are now one of the few industry leaders.

Content Pilot’s flagship product is an online platform where developers can quickly and easily create applications. We constantly monitor technology trends – inside and outside the legal industry – to ensure our firm continues growing and can adjust to meet new opportunities.

The Job Responsibilities

• Build robust and easy-to-maintain applications that support our web platform. We will fit you to your strengths, but the range of work is wide. Most of your time will be on web development, but at times IT is an important factor of our business.
• Deliver quickly and efficiently. We appreciate pretty code and elegant solutions, but place the greatest value on your ability to get results.
• Wear many hats. Because we are a small company, versatility is extremely valuable. Detailed documentation and quality assurance testing are just as important to us as new development.
• Be collaborative. Sharing ideas and best practices is a strong part of our company culture. Our new developer should have the same mindset toward teamwork, and even be willing to sacrifice their own ideas to do what’s best for the company.

• Follow web development policies. We do not tolerate “cowboy programming”.

Requirements

• 3-5 Years of HTML, JS, CSS and DOM Manipulation
• 3 Years of experience in Software Development Shops
• 1 Year of experience on Dynamic Web Programming
• Demonstrate excellent HTML/JS/CSS Skills
• Demonstrate excellent dynamic web development skills
• Good MySQL/SQL and Tomcat Server experience
• Strong quality awareness

• Primary evaluation is a 24 hour take-home development assessment.

Extra Credits

• Ideal candidate will have a completed CS or related degree
• Able to show examples of web development done and the participation on them
• JQuery Experience
• Ideal candidate will have Java web development experience
• Knowledgeable in scaling tactics, caching strategies and DB maintenance
• Have worked at a startup or similarly agile company
• Active in the community – real life, open source, etc
• Experienced with SVN and other versioning softwares

• The ability to focus despite interruptions
