Summary Description:
IAC’s Consumer Applications & Portals division – creators of Zwinky, Webfetti, Smiley Central, IWON and other popular online communication and social networking products – is seeking a talented Web Writer/Editor to join its Creative team.
You will be writing and editing product copy and blogs – as well as brainstorming creative concepts – for our suite of highly successful products. You should feel comfortable working closely with designers, product managers, web producers and marketing managers to ensure that our products stay ahead of the curve, timely, relevant and profitable.
The Editorial team - working in conjunction with our Design group - is responsible for creating animated character-driven products, as well as messaging for our products and portals, and online marketing/advertising materials. We do it all, we do it well, and we do it in a friendly, supportive, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Write blog posts and daily surveys in support of products and portals
• Write product text, FAQs, and acquisition copy
• Manage content and product promotions, mixing timely events, enticing content and revenue generation
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for new creative product content
• Work with product managers to ensure all products are updated in a timely fashion
• Assist in management of an editorial calendar showcasing holidays and notable events to highlight product offerings
• Become a central player on the Creative and Editorial teams
Technical Skill Level:
• Strong editing, proofreading and writing skills, with a keen sense of design layout
• Deadline-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of web-based product industry
• Some experience with HTML helpful
• Some direct marketing writing background a plus
Professional Skill Level:
Strong communication skills, ability to interface with numerous departments, positive attitude, sense of humor, creative problem solver, able to work under tight deadlines with little supervision.
Required Experience:
3-5 years writing/editorial experience within Internet/New Media space
BS/BA – Writing, Communications, Journalism or any related field
