Frontend/Javascript Engineer - Chomp
at Chomp in San Francisco, CA
Do you have exceptional JavaScript Skills? Do you enjoy taking pushing the envelope of what technology can create?
Chomp is seeking an experienced front end engineer to take ownership of all front end development. The ideal candidate has already conquered building Ajaxified websites and is looking for a front end role that will challenge their engineering ability. We really plan to push the envelope of what HTML 5 and WebKit can do; the right candidate will be excited by that rather than intimidated.
Us:
Chomp is an exciting new mobile start-up, funded by top Silicon Valley investors & working on the biggest mobile problem the world faces today. We are building what Yahoo was for web pages, or YouTube was for video, but for apps. and have created an awesome Social App Discovery Service.
We are engineers, smart & aggressive... & have built and sold companies in the mobile space previously.
You:
Will be working with an extremely small team & will get in on this opportunity early!
• Smart, hungry and ready to make your mark. It would be a plus if you have a good sense of humor too. :-)
• Prepared to do whatever it takes to succeed. This means the non-sexy start-up stuff too... (i.e. image production work, helping with user support, or picking up the bagels for team breakfast)
• Passionate about building products that blow people away.
Responsibilities
• Take ownership of all front end development, including our full and mobile optimized websites
• Write and maintain high quality, efficient, performant code.
• Be involved in QA testing.
Experience
• Extensive hands-on experience in JavaScript
• Experience in standards compliant HTML and CSS
• Good with Photoshop
• Experience building iPhone-optimized sites highly desired
• Experience with PHP and CodeIgniter a plus
• Experience with distributed version control, preferably Git.
