Sr. UI Technical Lead

The Cobalt Group Professional Services team has an opening for a highly motivated, experienced technical lead. We're looking for a software engineer with a passion for providing innovative software solutions for Professional Services customers. The right candidate has the technical and professional maturity to find the simplest path with ease.
The technical lead will respond to project requests by recommending technical solutions, providing level-of-effort estimates and writing technical design documentation as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
• Recommend imaginative and sophisticated solutions for software feature requests.
• Estimate the time needed to complete development phase of projects.
• Clearly and concisely document technical designs.
• Function as liaison between other functional teams and the software development team to ensure accurate implementation of specified design and functionality.
• Communicate closely with the product owner and sales team so they have a clear understanding of the development team’s capacity and capabilities.
• Assess the technical feasibility of proposed functional designs.
• Evaluate workflow diagrams and initial mock-ups; make technology recommendations that support optimal construction, maintenance and performance.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in Internet technologies.
• Contribute to technical design reviews and code reviews as assigned.
• Develop high-quality code following established development processes.
• Mentor other members of the development team.
Required Skills and Experience
• 5-7 years of software development experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Enterprise Java, EJB, Servlets, JSP, JMS and JDBC.
• Experience with the Spring framework is a plus.
• Previous experience implementing web-based applications and web service integrations.
• A solid understanding of CSS and Javascript.
• Proficient with SQL DML.
• Demonstrated experience with software project planning, analysis and estimation skills.
• Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal).
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Previous Professional Services experience is a plus.
• A college degree in CS or equivalent experience.
