Acquia and Drupal are changing the face of social publishing on the web. We need a passionate, creative and collaborative visual designer to help drive this change. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Acquia tight-knit engineering team working with marketing, product managers and customer facing groups to create engaging and effective visual design solutions. You must have superior visual design skills, and possess a keen understanding of design patterns and visual trends. You'll be counted on for high-level, out-of-the-box thinking, and for your ability to communicate and influence design solutions that best meet business objectives.
Essential Skills and Characteristics
• A well-rounded understanding of Web usability best practices
• A keen eye for detail and a proven track record producing consistent clean icons, graphics, and layouts
• Familiarity with web technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions
• A strong portfolio, available for viewing, demonstrating a great sense of design and creativity
• Aptitude for designing for theme based CMS packages
• Ability to work with Fireworks
• 3-5 years of visual design experience and a degree in graphic design, communication design, information design, or other visual arts
• Ability to switch easily between different projects and handle a rapidly changing, high velocity environment while delivering quality results
• Ability to solicit and incorporate diverse perspectives
• Professional, team player with strong interpersonal skill
